Gigi Buffon has given Lionel Messi one of the strangest compliments we've ever heard

Ahead of the Champions League final this Saturday, Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has said his club will face an “extra-terrestrial” when they play Lionel Messi’s Barcelona.

Describing the Barca attacking trio of Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez as the “strongest in the world” Buffon reserved particular praise for the diminutive Argentinian who has managed 58 goals in 56 appearances for the Catalan giants this year.

‘Messi is an alien that dedicates himself to playing with humans,” the Juve captain told The Guardian.

“The only hope is that this Saturday he will be from earth, like the rest of us.”
